The President of the Senate, Gerardo Fernández Noroña, publicly apologized for his initial comments about the discovery in Teuchitlán, Jalisco, mentioning that it could be a setup. Noroña clarified his position in a video talk and issued a message through the official Senate accounts to express his solidarity with the families of the missing.

One of the individuals involved in drafting the controversial initiative, Sofía Morín, pointed out that the exclusion of regulations for cockfighting in a ruling was not based on technical criteria but rather on concerns related to organized crime. Morín explained this background in an interview with journalist Adela Micha.

In another context, the Congress of Quintana Roo unanimously voted to change the official name of the municipality of Solidaridad to Playa del Carmen. On the other hand, the film "1938: When Oil Was Ours" will finally premiere this week after several years of production. The director of the film, Sergio Olohvich, mentioned that the project advanced with more support following a change in government.
